Are You V-E Day Ready? - How To Make Bunting

Here's your step by step guide to making your own V-E Bunting!

You Will Need

  • Fabrics of your choice - We have selected  1/2 metre each of navy, red and union jack printed fabrics.

  • A bunting flag template (this could be handmade from cardboard)

  • Bias binding - for the length you require.

  • A pair of scissors

  • A rotary cutter

  • A cutting mat

  • A sewing machine.

Step 1

Cut around your template to create your triangle flags.

To speed this process up you could fold your fabric in half to cut two at once.

Step 2

Once all your flags are cut, you can then lay them out and decide in what order you would like them.

Step 3

Next, fold your bias binding in half and sew it together for around 30cm to give yourself an end to tie your bunting up.

Step 4

Then place your flags into the bias binding and fold the bias together to secure the bunting flag inside

Step 5

Now you are ready to sew the flags onto the binding!

Repeat step 4 & 5 following your pattern of bunting flags.

Once you have used up all of your flags, again sew another 30cm of bias binding on its own to tie your bunting into place.

Finally Hang For All To See!
