Sew Fabrics... goes shopping for fabric and other craft supplies

We recently visited a trade event, meeting lots of new suppliers, looking for new fabrics and craft supplies to fill our shop with. We were literally like kids in a sweetshop!

Our plan for this year is to expand the fabrics we already have on offer, but also the range of crafts and haberdashery available in our shop. Another thing on our agenda is the introduction of workshops, so we had lots of things in mind as we went shopping.

We saw all kinds of loveliness and shared some of the new fabrics we loved on our Instagram and Facebook stories and lots of you loved them too. You are always at the forefront of our mind when shopping for new fabrics so your opinions are really important to us. You clearly had some favourites and this is the first new fabric we ordered as soon as we got back.

We've seen some great ideas for workshops, some fun craft activities including sewing, crochet and knitting. We enjoyed taking part in a workshop ourselves with Kerrie from Living in Loveliness making a pretty lotus bag to take home, this wasn't planned, we just joined in at the last minute which made it even more enjoyable.

Other ideas we came away with were crocheted toys, animals, pumpkins and plants, and sewing crafts such as novelty pin cushions, clothing and bags.

Watch this space if you're excited about workshops!

At the end of an exhausting weekend, we were so inspired by everything we'd seen, from bias bindings to threads the way, if you're using cones on your overlockers, keep an eye on our social media pages and turn your notifications on 😉

We will be adding some of the new fabrics we sourced to our shop over the next few weeks and months and can't wait for your feedback. If you are looking for something in particular, please do get in touch, we may just be able to help you find it.
