This week we were excited to receive the latest edition of Love Patchwork and Quilting magazine, especially because this month it includes 6 Summer blocks by one of our favourite paper piecing designers, Joanne Hart. We couldn't wait to have a go at these, so this week in true Sew Fabrics style we have made a start with... the cocktail!
This project took a good couple of hours, but doesn't need to be done in one go if you don't have that amount of time as it is made in 5 pieces and then put together at the end. The instructions are included in a booklet together with the patterns and are very clear and easy to follow. If you have never tried paper piecing before, this would be a good place for you start as everything is included in one pack. You just need to add the fabric! (We're good at that bit!)
This is our finished cocktail block. It isn't perfect but we were once told that imperfections make it unique so we learn to love the mistakes.
We have decided to make cushions out of these blocks to use outside for the Summer. We'll share them in position when we've completed them.
If you give these a go, please share your makes with us. We love to see what you're making!
